Creamy and delicious split pea soup made with uber flavorful and healthy beef bone broth in a slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup yellow onions, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups carrots, diced
  • 1 cup red potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 pound dried split peas
  • 8 cups bone broth (I used Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth. Click here to get some shipped to your door.)
  • Cooked bacon pieces for serving and chopped cilantro for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a 4-quart (or bigger) slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  2. Taste to adjust flavor by adding more salt if desired. Ladle into serving bowls and top with cooked bacon pieces and fresh cilantro leaves before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

If you don’t have the time to make good beef bone broth at home (sometimes I don’t), I’d recommend you keep a few cartons of Kettle & Fire Beef Bone Broth in your kitchen.
